Baccarat Crystal Chandelier

In 1764, under the guidance of Louis XV a glass blowing factory was founded in Meurthe et Moselle. The nearby forest provided the wood needed to fire the ovens, so reducing the importation of the decorative glass produced in regions of Bohemia and Silesia (Czech Republic). In the nineteenth century this region launched the manufacturing in france and the story still carries on.

From 1764 up to this day has always produced cut glass of exceptional quality that made her famous in the period of Louis XV throughout europe.

All the traditional techniques are still used: blown, clamped, size, engraving, painting and gilding. These works of art can be huge and some are over 3 meters tall. The crystals can be beautifully mounted on bronze, silver or gold.
