Gilt Bronze Chandelier

Made in glass and dating from the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century, where the upper element of the basket chandelier brings to mind a tent pendant necklace that is attached to the ceiling with either a ring or hoop of metal.

A basket chandelier hanging under its ceiling hoop can complement a Regency style room. The light is from within this antique lighting, allowing the glass crystals to shine. The lighting the basket chandelier can be lit with racks of candles or more modern technology.

In the simplest form, applied directly to the ceiling, we talk about using this piece when your ceiling height is not that of a fortified French chateau. They hang well in entrance halls where we sometimes find a lower ceiling height.
